Classes for 2024-2025

• This class is for our very youngest children 18-36mos. For the first few months we welcome care takers to join the children in class. Boys and girls will wiggle and giggle their way in song and dance while learning the discipline and structure of a dance class setting. This is accomplished through the fun of creative movement and music. 

This class performs 1 routine in the recital.

Ages 3-4. Pink Diamond dancers: 

• This is a combination class in Creative Movement and Tap dance. Young dancers will learn through developmentally appropriate instruction and enjoy having fun discovering their love for dance. 

This class performs 2 dances in the recital.

Age 4.5-6yrs. Yellow Diamond dancers: 

• This is a combination class in Ballet, Tap and Jazz, for the experienced Pre-K and Kindergarten age dancers. The six elements of dance are introduced with special focus on space and action.

This class performs 3 dances in the recital.

• This is a combination class of Ballet, Tap and Jazz for 1st grade students and older. At this age, it is our goal for students to develop positive attitudes and a love for dance and learning. Classtime is split between the three genres and advancement is based on the individual's growth. Kindergarten students will be permitted only if they have completed 1 full year of classes at DFX prior.

This class will perform 3 dances in the recital.

• This is a combination class of Ballet, Tap and Jazz for elementary students in grade 4 and 5. Students enrolling in this level class should have at least 1 year of prior dance experience. This class will expand on the development of all basic techniques. The elements of dance are further explored with focus on developing better understanding of how important each element is for dance. 

This class will perform 3 dances in the recital.

This is a Pre-Teen Jazz class. Prior dance experience is preferred, but not required. This class continues to expand on the development of all the basic techniques jazz dancing. All elements of dance are continued to be explored with focus on two specific ones, energy and relationships. 

This class will perform in the recital. 

This is our pre-teen lyrical class. Classtime is spent on developing the skills and technique specific to lyrical dancing. Students should have at least 2 years of prior dance training in either ballet and/or jazz. Lyrical dance is an expressive form of both ballet and jazz movements combined. May be combined with the White Diamonds. 

This class will perform in the recital. 

This is an Intermediate mixed level Jazz class for high school age students. Students in this level should have a solid technical skill set which includes but is not limited to, inside and outside double pirouettes, straight leaps, side leaps, calypso, and turning leaps. A solid foundation is important to succeed and grow in this level. Dancers at this level are expected to put forth maximum effort and work to their fullest potential, with no excuses. 

This class will perform in the recital. 

This is an Intermediate mixed level jazz class for the high school age students. Depending on enrollment this class may be combined with the Red Diamonds.

This class will perform in the recital. 

This is our Intermediate mixed level tap class. Middle school and high school combined. We reserve the right to split the class into two separate classes if needed.
