The traditional Combination class

• This class is for our very youngest children 18-36mos. For the first few months we welcome care takers to join the children in class. Boys and girls will wiggle and giggle their way in song and dance while learning the discipline and structure of a dance class setting. This is accomplished through the fun of creative movement and music. 

This class performs 1 routine in the recital.

Ages 3-5. Pink Diamond dancers: 

• This is a combination class in Creative Movement and Tap dance. Young dancers will learn through developmentally appropriate instruction and enjoy having fun discovering their love for dance. 

This class performs 2 dances in the recital.

Age 5-7yrs. Yellow Diamond dancers: 

• This is a combination class of Ballet, Tap and Jazz, for the experienced Kindergarten and 1st-2nd grade dancers. The six elements of dance are introduced with special focus on space and action. 

This class performs 3 dances in the recital.

• This is a combination class of Ballet, Tap and Jazz for experienced 2nd-3rd grade students and older. At this age, it is our goal for students to develop positive attitudes and a love for dance and learning. Class time is split between the three genres and advancement is based on the individual's growth. Kindergarten students will be permitted only if they have completed 1 full year of classes at DFX prior.

This class will perform 3 dances in the recital.

• This is a combination class of Ballet, Tap and Jazz for elementary students in grades 3-5. Students enrolling in this level class should have at least 1, preferably 2 years of prior dance experience. This class will expand on the development of all basic techniques. The elements of dance are further explored with focus on developing better understanding of how important each element is for dance. 

This class will perform 3 dances in the recital.

• Occasionally we will combine our elementary level combo classes to ensure the minimum number of students is met. It is important to us that each child be placed in a class that we feel will allow them the best room for growth and development as a dancer. By the end of the first week if we feel a class placement change is necessary, parents will be notified and tuition will be adjusted based on the length of the class.
